What is waxing, and why choose it?

Waxing removes hair directly from the root rather than cutting it at the surface like shaving. Warm wax is applied to the skin, then lifted away taking the hair with it. The result is skin that stays smooth for far longer, with regrowth that comes back softer and finer over time.

How to prepare & care for your skin

Before your appointment

  • Let hair grow to roughly 5mm about the length of a grain of rice so the wax can grip properly.

  • Gently exfoliate the area 24 hours before to free any trapped hairs and lift away dead skin.

  • Avoid sunbeds, hot baths and active skincare (retinol, acids) for 24–48 hours beforehand.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment, especially for leg or intimate waxing.

  • For intimate waxing, you may take your usual pain relief about 30 minutes before if you wish.

After your wax

  • Avoid heat saunas, hot baths and sunbeds for 24–48 hours while skin settles.

  • Skip swimming pools and chlorine for at least 24 hours to prevent irritation.

  • Steer clear of perfumed products and tight clothing on freshly waxed skin.

  • From day three, exfoliate gently 2–3 times a week to keep ingrown hairs at bay.

  • Moisturise daily with a fragrance-free lotion to keep skin soft and calm.

  • There's a brief sensation as the wax is removed, but it's quick and most clients find it far more manageable than they expect especially after the first couple of visits, when regrowth becomes finer. I work efficiently and keep you at ease throughout, using premium wax that's gentle on the skin.

  • Aim for around 5mm of growth roughly the length of a grain of rice. If hair is too short the wax can't grip it; too long and removal is less comfortable. If you're unsure, leave it a little longer and I can tidy it on the day.

  • Most people enjoy smooth skin for three to six weeks, depending on your individual hair cycle. With regular waxing every four to six weeks, regrowth gradually becomes softer, finer and sparser.

  • A Brazilian removes most of the hair while leaving a neat strip or triangle at the front, with the back tidied too. A Hollywood removes all of the hair, front and back, for a completely smooth finish.

  • Yes intimate waxing during your period is absolutely fine as long as you're wearing a tampon or menstrual cup. The skin can feel slightly more sensitive at this time, so do let me know and I'll take extra care.
